Chinese Health Authorities: "COVID-19 Virus Leak from Wuhan Laboratory Impossible"

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Ji-hwan] Chinese health authorities have claimed that it is impossible for the COVID-19 virus to have leaked from the Wuhan laboratory.

According to local media such as Huanqiu.com on the 12th, Mi Feng, spokesperson for the National Health Commission of China (NHC), said the previous day that Western media were spreading the theory of a laboratory leak of the COVID-19 virus.

Spokesperson Mi Feng stated, "The conclusion regarding China's connection to the origin of COVID-19 is very clear, and the hypothesis of a laboratory leak of the COVID-19 virus is absolutely impossible."

He added, "China has fully supported scientists worldwide in investigating the origin of the COVID-19 virus," emphasizing, "China cooperated with the World Health Organization (WHO) to conduct a joint investigation into the origin."

He said, "The WHO joint investigation report did not include any part suggesting that China was related to the origin of COVID-19," and added, "China hopes that everyone will maintain an open and transparent attitude and cooperate with the WHO in the origin investigation."
