Megabox, Even You!... Ticket Prices to Increase on the 5th of Next Month

CGV and Lotte Cinema Follow the Same Path
"We Apologize for the Increased Burden on Viewers"

Following CGV and Lotte Cinema, Megabox will also raise movie ticket prices. On the 11th, it was announced that prices will increase by 1,000 won starting from the 5th of next month. The new prices will be 13,000 won on weekdays and 14,000 won on weekends (based on adult 2D movies during regular hours). However, The Boutique Suite, Private, and Balcony theaters are excluded from this price increase. Discounted rates for national merit recipients, people with disabilities, seniors aged 65 and over, preschool children, police and firefighters, and vaccinated individuals will also be maintained.

This price increase by Megabox comes about seven months after the last one in November of last year. To overcome difficulties caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, Megabox is following the footsteps of CGV and Lotte Cinema. Megabox stated, "We are virtually at the limit of our operations," and added, "We have inevitably decided to raise ticket prices to ensure the survival of theaters and the normalization of the Korean film industry." They expressed regret over the increased burden on moviegoers and said, "We will strive to provide various benefits and services commensurate with the price increase."
