[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon commented on the People Power Party's leadership election, saying, "It seemed like a replay of the April 7 by-election held two months ago," and added, "The result of this election was likely not just an expectation for outstanding individuals, but a national desire for the People Power Party, and furthermore, for South Korea to change."
He continued, "This leadership election started with a fresh breeze, and that breeze was refreshing. However, after the wind has blown, a time for tidying up is necessary."
He also stated, "We need to embrace those who have concerns about the new leadership and thoroughly alleviate their anxieties. Now is the time to organize the party and show stability."
Mayor Oh further emphasized, "I sincerely hope that the People Power Party can show the public a completely transformed image, gain the sympathy of the moderate voters and the 2030 generation who have just begun to pay attention to our party, and be reborn as a party loved by the people."
