[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Changwon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 11th that it will hold a public contest for the ‘2021 Women-Friendly City Regional Special Projects.’

A total project budget of 26 million KRW will be spent, supporting 2 million to 10 million KRW per project, with no duplicate support allowed.

Applicants must be non-profit organizations or corporations located in Changwon City, universities or research institutes conducting gender equality-related research, and projects must align with the five major goals of a women-friendly city and consider regional characteristics.

The five major goals of a women-friendly city are establishing a foundation for gender equality policy promotion, expanding women’s economic and social participation, enhancing community safety, creating a family-friendly environment, and strengthening women’s community activity capabilities.

Projects linked and integrated by goals, regional special projects, public facility monitoring, and gender-equal language improvement projects can receive additional points.

The application period is from the 22nd to the 23rd, and applicants can download the application forms from the city hall website, fill them out, and submit them in person at the Changwon Women’s Center Changwon Branch. The selection results will be announced at the end of June.

For more details, inquiries can be made to the Women’s Policy Department of Changwon City’s Women and Family Division.

Lee Seonhee, Director of the Welfare, Women, and Health Bureau, said, “We hope that many corporations and organizations will show interest and participate so that many innovative and excellent projects can be discovered based on communication and collaboration to realize a women-friendly city that citizens can feel.”
