As COVID-19 vaccinations accelerate domestically, the cumulative number of first-dose recipients has surpassed 10.5 million. The proportion of first-dose recipients relative to the population has exceeded 20%.

According to the COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team, as of midnight on the 11th, 733,067 people received their first dose on the previous day. As a result, a cumulative total of 10,565,404 people have completed their first dose. An additional 285,448 people completed their vaccinations, bringing the cumulative total to 2,636,135. This includes 251,787 people who received the Janssen vaccine, which requires only one dose. The vaccination rate relative to the population stands at 20.6% for the first dose and 5.1% for completed vaccinations.

The Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) announced that the number of new domestic COVID-19 cases increased by 556, bringing the cumulative total to 146,859. Regarding infection routes, 541 cases were locally transmitted, and 15 were imported. On the same day, the number of suspected case tests was 34,202; tests conducted at temporary screening centers in the metropolitan area numbered 30,328; and tests at temporary screening centers outside the metropolitan area totaled 3,027, making a total of 67,557 tests. At the temporary screening centers in the metropolitan and non-metropolitan areas, 80 and 11 people respectively tested positive.

In the metropolitan area, confirmed cases included 201 in Seoul, 172 in Gyeonggi, and 17 in Incheon. In non-metropolitan areas, cases were confirmed in all regions: 25 in Busan, 23 in Daegu, 20 in Gyeongnam, 16 in Chungbuk, 15 each in Daejeon and Ulsan, 10 in Gangwon, 6 in Gyeongbuk, 5 each in Chungnam, Jeonnam, and Jeju, 4 in Jeonbuk, and 1 each in Gwangju and Sejong.

The cumulative number of COVID-19 deaths increased by 2 from the previous day, reaching 1,981. The number of critically ill patients decreased by 1 to 153. An additional 511 patients were declared recovered and released from isolation, bringing the total to 137,224.
