[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] JTI Korea announced on the 11th that it will support the operation project of a shelter for patients with rare and intractable diseases.
On the previous day, JTI Korea delivered a support fund for the operation project of the shelter for patients with rare and intractable diseases at the headquarters of the Korea Rare and Intractable Disease Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association) located in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul.
The shelter operation project implemented by the Association provides free accommodation for patients with rare diseases and their caregivers who are economically disadvantaged.
The support fund delivered by JTI Korea will be used for the Association’s shelter operation project for patients with rare and intractable diseases to provide safe accommodation for economically disadvantaged patients and caregivers, and to create an environment that enables smooth treatment.
The donation ceremony was also attended by Korea Charity Ride (hereinafter KCR), a charity fundraising event. KCR is a charity fundraising event that started in 2017. The funds raised through the event are donated to charitable organizations such as the Association, and KCR facilitated JTI Korea’s direct support to the Association.
Meanwhile, JTI Korea is conducting social contribution activities focusing on three areas: people, culture, and environment. This shelter operation project for patients with rare and intractable diseases is an activity focused on ‘people.’
Jung Kyung-il, Executive Director of JTI Korea, said, “We hope that this shelter operation support fund will be of help to patients with rare diseases and their caregivers who are in economically difficult situations,” and added, “JTI Korea plans to assist marginalized groups in our society through continuous and diverse social contribution activities.”
