The 'LG Jiin Anshim Mat' is a mat installed over existing flooring and has received the highest grade of the HB Mark, an eco-friendly building material group standard certification.
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoonju Hwang] LG Hausys is an interior material company practicing ESG (environment, society, governance) management through the production of eco-friendly and energy-saving products.
The representative product leading the eco-friendly market is the ‘Z:IA Series’. For flooring and wallpaper products, a coating layer made from plant-derived ingredients is applied to the product surface to enhance eco-friendliness. The flagship product, ‘Super Save Window’, has established itself as a high-insulation performance window representing Korea since its launch, contributing to improving the energy efficiency of buildings.
This year, LG Hausys is accelerating the creation of safe living spaces by introducing the residential flooring mat product ‘LG Z:IN Safety Mat’. The LG Z:IN Safety Mat uses thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) material on the surface layer, securing eco-friendliness and excellent durability, as well as reducing everyday noise (lightweight impact sound) and offering installation convenience with DIY construction capability.
It has obtained the ‘KC Certification for Children’s Product Safety Standards’ and is the first TPU material flooring mat product currently sold on the market to receive the ‘HB Mark Highest Grade’, an eco-friendly building material group standard certification awarded by the Korea Air Cleaning Association. The HB Mark Highest Grade requires meeting all emission standards for total volatile organic compounds (TVOC), formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, and others, making it one of the most stringent eco-friendly certifications that various indoor products find difficult to obtain.
As ESG management and ethical consumption culture are being promoted worldwide, LG Hausys plans to lead changes in the domestic interior market by expanding eco-friendly and energy-saving certified products in line with these trends.
