What If an 'Avatar' Attends Class in the Lecture Room? Dongseo University Holds 'Future Strategy Campus' Forum The 10th Busan Tourism MICE Festival scene.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] In a world where virtual and reality are blurred, how will the 'Metaverse' change university education? What if the future learner is not a student but an 'avatar'?

A campus forum discussing future strategies on this seemingly unusual topic will be held.

Dongseo University will conduct a YouTube live broadcast on the 3rd floor of the New Millennium Building MOA (Media Outlet Annex) on the 24th under the theme "The Impact and Prospects of the Metaverse on University Educational Environments."

Dongseo University LINC+ Project Group (Director Cho Dae-su) has been operating the non-face-to-face and face-to-face linked forum "2021 Future Strategy Campus - Future Strategy Forum for Responding to the 4th Industrial Revolution" five times from March to June under the title "Imagining Busan 10 Years in the Future."

This forum includes discussions on five detailed topics: ▶ What kind of city will Busan become? ▶ What is the future of Busan as envisioned by the startup ecosystem? ▶ What are the roles and goals of the tourism MICE industry for Busan? ▶ What does the Expo bidding process give us? ▶ What impact does the 'Metaverse,' accelerated by COVID-19, have on university education? Experts from each field will share their opinions.

The participating panelists will discuss ways in which the rapidly growing market of the three-dimensional virtual world 'Metaverse,' which maximizes realism and emerges as a new opportunity in the untact era, can be applied to university education.

The "2021 Future Strategy Campus - Future Strategy Forum for Responding to the 4th Industrial Revolution" is an event jointly hosted every year by the Busan Service Industry Federation, Busan Knowledge Service Convergence Association, Busan Economic Promotion Agency, Dongseo University LINC+ Project Group, Future Campus, and MICE Busan.

It is emerging as a progressive program where companies, public institutions, and universities gather to prepare for the approaching future by sharing industry-specific issues, future trends, and success cases.
