[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyo-jin] DGB Financial Group is preparing a performance stage to showcase the talents of disabled vocalists in celebration of the 10th anniversary of its holding company and foundation.
The DGB Social Contribution Foundation announced on the 10th that it will hold the ‘DGB With?U National Disabled Vocal Competition.’
This project aims to discover outstanding talents among disabled vocalists and provide a stepping stone toward becoming professional vocalists, as well as to support performance opportunities for artists whose stages have been reduced due to COVID-19.
The competition is hosted by the Daegu Social Welfare Council, organized by the Korean Classical Music Professors Association and the Daegu Disabled Persons Organizations Council, and sponsored by the DGB Social Contribution Foundation and Daegu Metropolitan City.
The contest will be divided into vocal majors and non-majors, with a grand prize of 10 million won and a certificate awarded to one winner. Prizes and awards will also be given for the top and excellence categories.
Preliminary applications will be accepted from July 1 to 23, followed by a video screening. The in-person final judging will take place on August 27, and a gala concert and awards ceremony will be held on October 13.
The competition is open to those aged 15 and older, and participation is free. Applicants must select one piece from either a Korean art song or an opera aria and submit it via email.
