[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Hanwha Life announced on the 9th that it will operate economic classes for students across the country, starting with Sandae Elementary School in Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, followed by Cheonbu Elementary School in Ulleung-gun and Yeongdeok Middle School in Yeongdeok-gun.
Hanwha Life's economic classes are part of the "One Company One School Financial Education" project led by the Financial Supervisory Service. This year, depending on the COVID-19 situation, the education will be conducted either through visits or non-face-to-face methods.
The financial education for Sandae Elementary School was conducted via video conference at the ET1 Studio in Seongdong-gu. Through topics applicable to real life, students had time to think about not only finance but also career planning and the future.
Currently, 73 schools and about 9,600 students have applied for Hanwha Life's economic classes.
A Hanwha Life official said, "This is a valuable opportunity to provide children, who are the dreams and hopes of the future, with information about finance that is not easily accessible." He added, "With non-face-to-face learning support, more students nationwide will be able to access financial education, and we plan to expand the education to up to 10,000 students this year."
