Seoul City to Recruit 4,000 Participants for This Year's '2nd Youth Allowance'... From 14th to 17th

Unemployed Youth Aged 19-34 Living in Seoul, Graduated Over 2 Years Ago

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 7th that it will recruit 4,000 participants for the 2nd round of the Youth Allowance program.

The eligibility for the 2nd round includes unemployed youth aged 19 to 34, residing in Seoul as per their resident registration on the application date, and who have graduated at least two years ago. Those participating in similar programs such as the Ministry of Employment and Labor's National Employment Support System, unemployment benefits, Seoul Metropolitan Government's Youth Monthly Rent Support program, those who have already participated in the 1st Seoul Youth Allowance from 2017 to 2021, and recipients of basic livelihood security or near-poverty class are excluded from eligibility.

The finally selected youth will receive an activity support fund of 500,000 KRW per month for up to six months from July to December, and can participate in youth vitality programs operated by the Seoul Youth Activity Support Center, including online mental health counseling and job exploration.

Seoul plans to select all applicants who meet the basic requirements through quantitative evaluation of residency, graduation, and income criteria, and will prioritize low-income applicants if the number of applicants exceeds the recruitment quota. Selection results can be individually checked on the Seoul Youth Portal My Page after 4 PM on the 9th.
