[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] Former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk sent a warning message to those spreading false information by directly clarifying on Facebook on the 6th that his daughter drives a "Hyundai Avante," in response to rumors that she drives an expensive foreign car.
On that day, former Minister Cho said, "An acquaintance contacted me to verify rumors circulating in the 2030 community that my daughter commutes to work in a '200 million won Mercedes-Benz'." He added, "There are colleagues at her workplace who drive Mercedes-Benz cars," and emphasized, "As I revealed in 'The Time of Cho Kuk,' my family has never driven foreign cars except during our time studying abroad."
Former Minister Cho continued, "There are many petty and lowly people," and added, "I want to remind everyone that the Garosero Research Institute (Gaseyeon) spread the false information that my daughter drives a 'red Porsche,' which led to civil and criminal lawsuits."

Earlier, in August 2019, when former Minister Cho was a nominee, posts such as "Cho's daughter drives a red Porsche" and "She ranked last in university" spread through online communities and social networking services (SNS).
Additionally, Kang Yong-seok, a lawyer who appeared on the YouTube channel 'Garosero Research Institute (Gaseyeon),' claimed in a video titled "Summary of Cho Kuk's Suspicions" that Cho's daughter drives a red Porsche, showing photos of Cho's children at the time. In response, former Minister Cho filed a lawsuit for damages seeking 300 million won in compensation against the Gaseyeon cast for spreading false information on August 19 last year.
The first trial regarding this case was held on April 21 at the Seoul Central District Court, about eight months after former Minister Cho filed the lawsuit.
