Meanwhile, in July 2012, Jongno-gu transformed an unused pressure station and water tank into the 'Yun Dong-ju Literature Museum' to honor the spirit of the poet Yun Dong-ju.
The area around Cheongun-dong and Inwangsan Mountain, where the museum is located, is a meaningful place as it was where Yun Dong-ju enjoyed walking during his time at Yeonhui College. Nearby, the 'Poet's Hill' and 'Cheongun Literature Library' are also located, making the area a famous tourist attraction representing Jongno.
Mayor Kim Young-jong said, "Although Yun Dong-ju is no longer with us, his poems remain, offering hope and comfort that inspire many people to look forward to tomorrow. In celebration of the Month of Patriots and Veterans, we ask for your great interest in this meaningful event honoring the eternal young poet who dreamed of his country's freedom without yielding to Japanese oppression."
