[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Yangsan City in Gyeongnam announced on the 3rd that it has selected six outstanding cases of proactive administration for the first half of the year.
The competition was conducted through a first-round document review, a second-round department head vote, and a final online citizen vote, with a total of 452 citizens participating in the voting.
The Gold Prize went to the Taxation Division's "Promotion of Local Tax Refunds through KakaoTalk Channel Operation," which was highly evaluated for being the first in Gyeongnam Province to open the "Yangsan City Local Tax Refund" KakaoTalk channel, enabling refund applications anytime and anywhere via mobile 24/7, 365 days a year.
The Silver Prize was awarded to the Accounting Division for the "Installation of Automatic Fire Extinguishing Devices in the City Hall Distribution Board, the First Nationwide," and to the Resource Circulation Division for "Free Collection of Food Waste from Small Restaurants."
Additionally, the Bronze Prize was awarded to "Recycling of Composite Material PET to Achieve 100% Recycling Rate," "Expansion of Support Funds for Small Business Owners," and "Cancellation of Building Permits for Construction Sites with Suspended Construction," respectively.
The city plans to select personnel who pass the Personnel Committee's review as outstanding proactive public officials and implement preferential personnel measures, ranging from transfers to desired departments to priority selection for training.
Mayor Kim Il-kwon said, "We will do our best to overcome COVID-19 early through more advanced proactive administration."
