Gradual Reopening of Indoor Public Sports Facilities Starting from the 4th
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 3rd that it will open indoor public sports facilities, which had been temporarily closed for six months since last November, from the 4th at up to 50% of their capacity.
Following the phased opening of outdoor public sports facilities in February, the city will open four indoor sports facilities: Munsan Indoor Gymnasium, Jinju Life Sports Center, Jinju Table Tennis Plaza, and Jinju National Sports Center.
However, the Jinju Indoor Gymnasium, currently operating as a vaccine inoculation center, will remain closed to ensure the safe vaccination of citizens.
The Jinju National Sports Center, currently undergoing facility inspection and thorough cleaning, and the Jinju Life Sports Center, under maintenance, will resume normal operations from the 25th.
At the four indoor public sports facilities to be opened, at least one manager will be stationed at the entrance to strictly monitor and manage quarantine rules such as temperature checks, provision of hand sanitizer, maintaining visitor logs, wearing masks during exercise, and social distancing.
A city official stated, “We will do our best to manage quarantine measures along with the phased reopening so that citizens who have had difficulties engaging in sports activities due to the closure of indoor public sports facilities can enjoy a healthy life through exercise.” He also urged, “Citizens using the sports facilities must strictly adhere to quarantine rules such as maintaining a 2-meter distance between users and wearing masks at all times.”
