Research View, Party Leader Suitability Survey Shows 48% Support Rate
Na Kyung-won 29%, Joo Ho-young 9%, Cho Kyung-tae & Hong Moon-pyo 4%
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] Former Supreme Council member Lee Jun-seok ranked first with a support rate of 48% in a party leader suitability poll conducted among People Power Party supporters on the 1st.
The polling specialist agency 'Research View' conducted the party leader suitability survey from the 28th to the 31st of last month, targeting 391 People Power Party supporters nationwide aged 18 and over. Former floor leader Na Kyung-won received 29%, and former floor leader Joo Ho-young was recorded at 9%. Following them, lawmakers Cho Kyung-tae and Hong Moon-pyo each received 4% support. Non-responses accounted for 7%.
Lee's support rate of 48% is 2 percentage points higher than the combined 46% support rate of the other four candidates. By generation, Lee Jun-seok led in ▲18-29 years old (64% vs. 14% for Na Kyung-won), ▲30s (58% vs. 20%), ▲40s (45% vs. 35%), ▲50s (46% vs. 26%), and ▲70 and older (39% vs. 35%), while former floor leader Na Kyung-won led in the ▲60s (37% vs. 44%).
By region, Lee Jun-seok led in ▲Seoul (54% vs. 30% for Na Kyung-won), ▲Gyeonggi·Incheon (48% vs. 33%), ▲Chungcheong (42% vs. 17%), ▲Daegu·Gyeongbuk (33% vs. 27%), and ▲Busan·Ulsan·Gyeongnam (50% vs. 32%). Former floor leader Joo Ho-young received double-digit support in ▲Seoul (10%) and ▲Daegu·Gyeongbuk (20%), while lawmaker Hong Moon-pyo received double-digit support in ▲Chungcheong (13%).
This survey was conducted via an ARS automated response system (RDD mobile phones 85%, RDD landlines 15%). Statistical adjustments were made by applying weights for gender, age, and region according to the national resident registration population statistics as of the end of March 2021. The sampling error is ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level, and the response rate was 4.0%.
