Seoul 50 Plus Foundation - Seoul Agro-Fisheries & Food Corporation, 'Midlife Internship' to Revitalize Agro-Fisheries Distribution

Applications accepted from the 31st on 50+ Portal... Scheduled to work 57 hours per month for 3 months starting July

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul 50 Plus Foundation announced on the 31st that it is collaborating with the Seoul Agro-Fisheries & Food Corporation to revitalize the agricultural and fishery distribution industry and local production areas, which have been stagnating due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, by launching the ‘50+ Regional Win-Win Internship’ program and recruiting participants starting Monday, the 31st.

Participants in the ‘50+ Regional Win-Win Internship’ will support specialized tasks and projects in various fields such as consulting for business revitalization, developing production areas, opening online and offline sales channels, and online promotion in the agricultural and fishery product distribution sector, which is shifting primarily to online.

Citizens residing in Seoul who wish to gain work experience in the regional win-win field through the ‘50+ Regional Win-Win Internship’ can check recruitment information on the 50+ portal starting from the 31st.

Lee Hae-woo, Acting CEO of the Seoul 50 Plus Foundation, said, “This newly launched program reflects the demand of the 50+ generation, who have a strong interest in returning to rural areas and regional win-win initiatives.” He added, “Seoul will continue to develop regional win-win job models and create opportunities for the 50+ generation, companies, and regions to grow together through the establishment of sustainable models.”

Meanwhile, the Seoul Agro-Fisheries & Food Corporation is a local public enterprise fully funded by the Seoul Metropolitan Government. It manages and operates Garak Market, Gangseo Market, and Yanggok Market, supplying approximately 3.2 million tons of agricultural and fishery products annually, which accounts for 50% of Seoul’s demand, playing a pivotal role in the nationwide distribution of agricultural and fishery products.
