[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] The National Assembly Legislative Policy Research Association (Chairman Yoon Ho-jung, Floor Leader of the Democratic Party) announced on the 28th that Professor Jo Yohan of Kwangwoon University has been appointed as the director of the policy research institute.

The National Assembly Legislative Policy Research Association was launched in 1995 as the Korea National Assembly Aide Association and was approved as a incorporated association by the National Assembly Secretariat the following year.

The National Assembly Legislative Policy Research Association supports overall parliamentary activities such as legislation, budget review, national audits, and standing committees, and is composed of about 2,000 current and former aides and secretaries from both ruling and opposition parties.

Director Jo Yohan is currently a professor at Kwangwoon University and was also the key figure who helped Party Leader Lee Hae-chan lead the 21st National Assembly election in 2020 to victory.

Director Jo Yohan said, “Based on practical experience through extensive networks with the Blue House and the party, I will make substantial efforts to support policies and legislation that empower the people.”

Director Jo Yohan has served as Chief of Staff to Democratic Party Leader Lee Hae-chan, aide to National Assembly member Yoo Si-min, and a three-term city council member of Mokpo City.
