Appointment of 31 Members to Village Autonomy Public-Private Council, Plans to Discover Public-Private Cooperation Cases
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 26th that it held a village autonomy public-private council appointment ceremony at the Suncheon Chamber of Commerce Conference Hall on the 25th.
At the appointment ceremony, 31 individuals actively working for the region, including members of the Suncheon City Council, resident autonomy associations, vocational group activists, university students, community activists, and public officials, were appointed as council members.
The village autonomy public-private council was formed to help various local activists and public officials understand each other's roles and create collaborative cases to revitalize village autonomy.
Starting with learning together about community and autonomy, they plan to discover village projects by sector that can be promoted through collaboration between residents and public officials, and between communities.
Mayor Heo Seok of Suncheon said, "I dream of a city without noise where people can communicate even from afar, a garden city without cars on the roads," and added, "I hope the council members will demonstrate the power of collaboration through public-private governance to create a livable Suncheon."
Meanwhile, Suncheon City also operated a resident autonomy public-private council composed of 35 members last year.
Through discussions on resident tax return projects and amendments to the resident autonomy association ordinance, it was evaluated that a systemic foundation was established for the full implementation of resident autonomy associations in 24 eup, myeon, and dong this year.
