Officials from Milal Welfare Foundation and BNH Cosmetic are signing a social contribution business agreement at the Giving Plus Headquarters on the 25th.
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Giving Plus, operated by Milal Welfare Foundation, and BNH Cosmetic signed a "Social Contribution Agreement (MOU) for Job Creation and Self-Reliance Support for COVID-19 Employment Vulnerable Groups" on the 25th.
BNH Cosmetic will regularly donate its products to Milal Welfare Foundation, and Milal Welfare Foundation will sell the donated products at Giving Plus to create a job fund for employment-vulnerable groups.
BNH Cosmetic is a cosmetics specialist company that carries out social contribution activities to help socially marginalized groups through sharing activities such as product donations.
Kwon Ki-hyun, CEO of BNH Cosmetic, said, "We donated products because we sympathize with the value of Giving Plus, which supports self-reliance through job creation rather than temporary sponsorship." He added, "We hope to be of some help to marginalized groups affected by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, and we want to continue cooperating with Giving Plus to create various social values."
Kim In-jong, head of Giving Plus at Milal Welfare Foundation, said, "The economic crisis caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and the overall shift to non-face-to-face society are threatening jobs for vulnerable groups." He added, "Support for employment-vulnerable groups is urgently needed, and we thank BNH Cosmetic for practicing warm sharing. Giving Plus will do its best to create jobs and support self-reliance for vulnerable groups based on this agreement."
Giving Plus is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) specialized sharing store that employs people with disabilities in stores and helps vulnerable groups in the local community by selling new products donated by companies.
Since last March, Giving Plus has been conducting the "Jjin-Environment 'Born Again!' Campaign," which encourages companies to donate inventory and overstock products to Giving Plus instead of incinerating them, promoting environmental protection and sharing. This campaign supports companies wishing to practice ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management.
Milal Welfare Foundation was established in 1993 and operates 47 facilities and 8 branches for people with disabilities, the elderly, and local communities.
