Jeonnam Central Child Protection Agency and Yeonggwang Gidok Sinhwa Hospital Sign Agreement to Support Abused Children in the Community

Commit to Providing Medical Services for the Physical and Mental Growth of Abused Children

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Jeonnam Central Region Child Protection Agency (Director Yoo Kiyong) announced on the 24th that it held a business agreement ceremony with Yeonggwang County Office (County Governor Kim Junsung), Yeonggwang Police Station (Chief Im Wookseong), and Yeonggwang Christian Shinha Hospital (Chairman Kim Kyungok) to provide medical support for abused children in the local community.

The agreement ceremony was held with the attendance of Yoo Kiyong, Director of the Jeonnam Central Region Child Protection Agency, Kim Kyungok, Chairman of Geomyeong Medical Foundation, Kim Jeomgi, Head of the Elderly and Family Division at Yeonggwang County Office, and Kim Jeongho, Head of the Women and Youth Division at Yeonggwang Police Station.

Through this agreement, the two organizations agreed to immediately report suspected child abuse cases, provide prompt medical services for emergency abused children, conduct physical and mental examinations and treatments, and provide medical opinions and diagnosis certificates regarding abuse cases.

Yoo Kiyong, Director of the Jeonnam Central Region Child Protection Agency, said, “There are many cases where medical support is needed when child abuse occurs,” and added, “Through this business agreement, we hope to establish a protection system for abused children within each institution’s domain.”

Kim Kyungok, Chairman of Geomyeong Medical Foundation, said, “We are grateful that through this business agreement, we can promptly provide medical services to abused children in the local community,” and stated, “We will do our best medically to support the physical and mental health of abused children.”

Meanwhile, the Jeonnam Central Region Child Protection Agency conducts various programs and educational and promotional activities for child abuse prevention targeting abused children and their families, including crisis intervention through on-site child abuse investigation support and treatment services.
