The Guui 2-dong Community Service Center in Gwangjin-gu will move to a temporary office starting May 31 to carry out public services, following plans to construct a new complex building.
The current Guui 2-dong Community Service Center, built in 1988, has become outdated. To enhance residents' welfare, a new complex facility including the community service center, library, family center, and public parking lot is scheduled to be completed in June 2023.
The temporary office for Guui 2-dong is located about 200 meters from the current building at "24-6, Gwangnaru-ro 37-gil, MD Tower."
◇ Junggok 1-dong Conducts Night Patrols to Prevent COVID-19
The Junggok 1-dong Community Service Center in Gwangjin-gu has designated May as a special patrol period to prevent the spread of COVID-19 community infections, conducting joint patrols with the Junggok 1-dong Police Substation and the neighborhood watch.
In particular, on the 26th, night patrol activities were carried out targeting a total of 124 locations including hair salons, real estate agencies, and billiard halls to check for blind spots such as private gatherings and small-scale card rooms, while promoting compliance with quarantine guidelines and vaccination.
◇ Jayang 4-dong Shares Bread for Single-Parent Families, Disabled, and Elderly: ‘Happy Bread Sharing’
The Jayang 4-dong Community Social Welfare Council in Gwangjin-gu delivered homemade glutinous barley bread to 50 households including single-parent families, disabled individuals, and elderly residents on the 18th.
This sharing event was organized to expand interest in marginalized neighbors amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and to foster a voluntary community welfare culture through resident participation.
