38 Jeonnam Provincial Assembly Members of the Democratic Party Declare Support for Former Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon's Presidential Candidacy

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] On the afternoon of the 21st, 38 members of the Democratic Party of Korea from Jeonnam Province held a press conference in the Choi Room of the Jeonnam Provincial Council to announce a statement supporting former Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon as the 20th presidential election candidate.

The statement, presented by Lee Jang-seok, the Democratic Party representative member (Yeonggwang 2), declared, "The most suitable candidate with abundant experience and outstanding leadership is former Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon," and "We will actively support former Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon as the Democratic Party's presidential candidate, who is the best qualified to lead a true era of local decentralization that changes the lives of the people."

The 38 members who joined the support declaration stated, "If the local areas prosper, our people will prosper, and the Republic of Korea will prosper," and argued, "If the Moon Jae-in administration has nurtured the sprouts of local autonomy and decentralization, former Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon must win to let true local autonomy and decentralization blossom."
