[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Ottogi announced on the 18th that it held the award ceremony for the '1st Food Essay Contest' at the Ottogi Center located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.


This contest, held for the first time this year, was organized with the purpose of realizing a sweet home and a bright society through food. During the approximately 50-day contest period from February 22 to April 12, more than 5,533 entries were submitted despite it being the first time the contest was held, thanks to continuous interest and participation. Participants wrote about various foods without being limited to specific brands or dishes, sharing their precious and special past experiences in their essays.


The judging process involved strict evaluations by expert judges in the first and second rounds, ultimately selecting a total of 66 winning works, including the Ottogi Award, one Excellence Award, four Harmony Awards, and 60 Love Awards. The winning entries were also checked for plagiarism using the plagiarism detection service CopyKiller.


The Ottogi Award was given to Nam Myung-hye’s work titled ‘Does it matter what happens to the cake? - The life recipe taught by mom’s castella -’.
