1,461 Business Sites and Illegal Development Activity Locations Across Yeosu City
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shim Kyung-taek] Yeosu City in Jeollanam-do has launched a comprehensive inspection of development sites across the city to alleviate residents' inconveniences caused by development land formation and to eradicate illegal development activities.
According to the city, from the 17th of this month to the 18th of next month, over a period of five weeks, an inspection team consisting of 7 members divided into 3 groups from the Urban Planning Division will inspect 1,461 development permit project sites and illegal development sites.
The inspection team plans to check overall matters such as protective measures for vulnerable slopes and securing drainage facility flow to minimize disaster damage that may occur at construction sites, as well as to verify whether there are any illegal development activities.
In particular, the inspection team stated, "We will focus on identifying sites that have been left unattended for a long time after construction started and sites where illegal development is occurring without development permits."
Yeosu City plans to immediately take corrective actions on-site for any deficiencies found during inspections. For sites where significant damage is expected or illegal development activities are detected, the city will take strong measures such as stopping construction, ordering restoration, and filing criminal charges according to relevant procedures.
Meanwhile, through inspections conducted in the second half of last year, Yeosu City issued 265 caution and warning orders and 13 restoration orders, totaling 278 corrective orders.
