[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 18th that it will conduct the "2021 Disabled Persons Census Survey" to develop beneficiary-centered welfare policies through a welfare needs survey of home-based disabled persons.
This census survey aims to identify the multifaceted welfare needs of disabled persons in areas such as daily life, medical care, housing, education, culture, and employment, in order to provide various welfare services to disabled households facing significant restrictions in maintaining daily life and social activities.
In particular, 14 participants of the Hope Work program who received investigator training at the Dong-gu Disabled Welfare Center will serve as investigators and plan to visit each household in person to conduct face-to-face interviews.
The survey items include 58 questions across 9 fields: ▲General Information ▲Health, Medical Care, and Wellness ▲Daily Life and Social Activities ▲Education and Childcare ▲Employment and Work Life ▲Social Support Systems ▲Housing ▲Welfare Services ▲Disaster and Emergency Response.
Dong-gu completed surveys of 2,568 people since the second half of last year and plans to finish surveying 2,353 home-based disabled persons by August.
Based on the results of this disabled persons census survey, Dong-gu plans to use the basic data on home-based disabled persons as reference material when developing various policies.
Mayor Im Taek of Dong-gu said, "Through this census survey, we will be able to understand the actual welfare needs of home-based disabled persons," adding, "Based on the survey results, we will prioritize the development and support of effective welfare services centered on the needs of the beneficiaries."
