Request for Financial Support for 9 Projects Including Geochang Hyung Geochang Rental Housing Development Project

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang County in Gyeongnam Province, to complete the key projects of the 7th local government administration, on the 18th, County Governor Goo In-mo personally visited five ministries including the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to request financial support.
The projects proposed to the central government through this visit include ▲Southern Bypass Road Construction Project (43.9 billion KRW) ▲Geochang-type Public Rental Housing Development Project (11 billion KRW) ▲Smart Sewerage Management System Improvement Project (4 billion KRW) ▲Organic Agriculture Complex Service Support Complex Development Project (18 billion KRW) ▲Geochang Public Sewage Treatment Facility Expansion Project (24.9 billion KRW), totaling nine projects with a total budget of 140.3 billion KRW.
First, Governor Goo visited the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and met with Baek Won-guk, Director of Land Policy, to request the early commencement of the long-awaited “Geochang Southern Bypass Road Construction Project” for the residents of Geochang County.
He then visited the Public Housing Support Division to propose the “Geochang-type Public Rental Housing Development Project” and requested its selection as a new project by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in 2022 along with financial support.
At the Ministry of Environment, he met sequentially with officials including Park Jae-hyun, Director of Water Environment Policy Bureau, to explain the “Smart Sewerage Management System Improvement Project,” “Geochang Public Sewage Treatment Facility Expansion Project,” and “Installation Project of Small-scale Sewage Treatment Facilities in Namsang Cheongnim District.”
At the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, he visited the Minister’s Office and the Mechanical Robot Aviation Division to request an increase in national funding support for the “Smart Elevator Demonstration Platform Construction Project.”
At the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, he requested active interest and support to promote the “Organic Agriculture Complex Service Support Complex Development Project.”
Finally, at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Governor Goo met with Park Jae-min, Director of the Local Finance and Economy Office, to request 3 billion KRW in project funds necessary to expand parking lots, which are convenience facilities for residents.
Governor Goo said, “Securing funding is crucial to complete the key projects of the 7th local government administration. With urgency, I visited the central ministries to explain the county’s core projects and request their interest and budget support. I will do my best to secure national funding going forward.”
