[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 18th, Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced the results of this year’s ‘Child Abuse Prevention Content Contest’ judging.

This contest was organized to foster respect for children’s rights and build consensus among the residents regarding child abuse. A total of 76 individuals and teams submitted 58 works.

The county formed a judging panel consisting of two internal members and three external members to evaluate the works.

The selected works include Excellence Awards for ‘Differences in Eye Level’ and ‘Child Abuse STOP,’ Encouragement Awards for ‘Take a Look Around,’ ‘See Us Like Flowers,’ and ‘Even a Careless Word Hurts,’ and 10 Honorable Mentions, totaling 15 works. No Grand Prize was awarded.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no award ceremony will be held. Winners will receive cash prizes and Geochang Love gift certificates: 300,000 KRW each for Excellence Awards, 200,000 KRW each for Encouragement Awards, and 30,000 KRW each for Honorable Mentions.

Gu In-mo, the mayor of Geochang-gun, stated, “I hope this contest serves as an opportunity for residents to recognize the seriousness of child abuse and reaffirm the importance of children. I sincerely thank everyone who participated in the contest.”

The winning works are planned to be used in child abuse campaigns and promotional materials for child abuse prevention at the rotary in front of the county office in June.
