Court to Investigate Actress Yoon Jeong-hee's Adult Guardianship Next Month

[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] The court has decided to directly investigate actress Yoon Jeong-hee, who is suffering from Alzheimer's dementia, to determine whether she requires adult guardianship. However, considering that Yoon resides in France and the recent spread of COVID-19, the investigation will be conducted via video.

According to the legal community on the 17th, Judge Jang Jin-young of the Family Division 21 at the Seoul Family Court set the interview investigation date for the 1st of next month and recently delivered a 'summons for investigation date' to Yoon.

In October of last year, Yoon's daughter, violinist Baek Jin-hee, filed a petition with the court requesting to be appointed as Yoon's domestic guardian and initiated adult guardianship proceedings.

A guardian acts as a legal representative with authority over personal matters, property, and inheritance. Previously, Baek also applied to the French court to be appointed as guardian and was designated as such on November 3rd.

However, some of Yoon's siblings claimed last year that Yoon Jeong-hee was neglected by her husband, pianist Baek Geon-woo, in France, while Baek's side countered that these were "false and baseless claims." One of Yoon's siblings expressed willingness to participate in the adult guardianship proceedings conducted by the domestic court. Although the siblings raised objections in the guardianship case filed in France, the Paris Court of Appeal ruled in favor of daughter Baek.
