Enhancement of Quality and Diversification of Sales Channels
Plan for Sustainable Growth Through New Business Initiatives
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Daecho AL, a specialist in aluminum rolling and extrusion, announced on the 17th that its operating profit for the first quarter reached 1.48089 billion KRW, an increase of 2331.8% compared to the same period last year. Sales amounted to 33.22326 billion KRW, approximately 5 billion KRW higher than the same period last year. Net loss for the period improved by about 2.7 billion KRW to 259.64 million KRW.
A Daecho AL official analyzed, "Following the turnaround to operating profit last year, this year we are expanding the growth margin. Specifically, the order volume for materials related to secondary battery cases is steadily increasing, and the proportion of high value-added product sales is rising, improving both sales and profit structure."
Riding on strong performance, Daecho AL is establishing a foundation to achieve both quantitative and qualitative growth by advancing quality and diversifying sales channels. With the global eco-friendly vehicle market rapidly expanding, the company has set a goal to pioneer new businesses related to automotive lightweighting and electric vehicle parts, where demand is increasing.
Youngho Noh, CEO of Daecho AL, said, "We are actively responding to structural demand changes toward high value-added products from our dominant position in the domestic premium aluminum sheet market. We will develop new aluminum materials applicable to various fields and strengthen overseas market marketing to demonstrate innovative progress."
At the regular shareholders' meeting in March, Daecho AL added new business objectives and is reviewing various new businesses related to ventilation system production and sales, as well as glass-related sectors, beyond its core aluminum-based business. The company is preparing a roadmap for mid- to long-term growth.
