[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] ABKO, a company specializing in gaming gear and home appliances (CEO Oh Kwanggeun), announced on the 17th that it achieved consolidated sales of 42.6 billion KRW, operating profit of 3.7 billion KRW, and net profit of 3.2 billion KRW in the first quarter of this year.
Operating profit and net profit decreased by 20.9% and 7.4% respectively compared to the same period last year, but sales increased by 37.9%, maintaining a solid trend. In particular, domestic gaming gear sales increased by 35.0%, home appliances by 63.6%, and overseas exports by 219.4% compared to the same period last year.
The company explained, "Sales of gaming gear, which can be considered a front industry of E-Sports growth, continue to rise, and sales in the new growth engine of the home appliances sector are increasing, so the growth trend is expected to continue."
Additionally, this year, besides the core gaming gear business, the company has entered the office keyboard and mouse market to secure sales in new markets, and expects sales not only in the major export country, the United States, but also in the United Kingdom, India, Brazil, and other countries.
The company stated, "Sales expansion in the home appliances sector and domestic and overseas gaming gear is expected to continue this year, and we will further strengthen brand awareness for each business division to grow into a Global Life Platform company."
