[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Representative Yoon Young-seok (Gyeongnam Yangsan Gap District) held a press conference at the Gyeongnam Provincial Council on the morning of the 17th and declared his candidacy for party leader.

Representative Yoon stated, "For next year's regime change and the successful governance after the regime change, the party leader must be someone with innovative leadership who can create a new vision and alternatives for the People Power Party."

He continued, "Exhaustive and confrontational debates such as metropolitan area versus Yeongnam, and first-term versus multi-term members do not help the party's innovation and regime change at all," emphasizing that he is the best candidate for party leader who can lead communication and unity between the old-established senior members and the enthusiastic first-term members.

Representative Yoon promised to build a digital platform party. He said the People Power Party must also transform into a 21st-century type party suitable for the Fourth Industrial Revolution era.

He pledged, "I will change the party's paradigm by integrating information and communication technology and digital technology into politics to activate participatory democracy of the people."

Furthermore, if elected party leader, he said he would present a concrete roadmap for digital transformation in the post-COVID-19 era, social security policies to resolve polarization and inequality, and industries leading AI and the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Concluding the press conference, Representative Yoon appealed for the support of the public and party members, saying, "I will think only of the Republic of Korea, look only to the people, and vigorously run toward the success of the People Power Party and the Republic of Korea."
