Awarded to 396 Children of Self-Employed and SME Workers Facing Hardships Due to COVID-19
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] IBK Industrial Bank announced on the 17th that it has awarded scholarships totaling 833 million KRW to children of small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) workers and small business owners who are diligently pursuing their studies despite the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and challenging learning environments.
The bank supported scholarships for a total of 396 students, and noted that, following last year, SMEs also participated in sponsorship this year, adding greater significance to the effort. The selected university scholarship recipients will continue the spirit of sharing by participating in 'IBK Mentoring,' a volunteer program providing academic guidance to underprivileged children.
An IBK Industrial Bank official stated, “We hope this scholarship will be a small support to students who are moving forward toward their dreams despite the difficulties caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.”
