Survey and Application at Busan Youth Platform from 10 AM on the 17th to 6 PM on the 21st
Meal Kits Created by Youth Food Entrepreneurs, Total of 6,000 Gifts Delivered by Lottery
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A unique event where a warm meal prepared by young people is gifted to other young people is taking place in Busan.
Busan City (Mayor Park Hyung-jun) is accepting orders for the ‘Youth Happiness Box,’ which gifts a meal to young people in the Busan area, from the 17th to the 21st.
This year’s Happiness Box is composed of meal kits made by eight local young food entrepreneurs, specialty coffee selected by the Busan Economic Promotion Agency, and youth policy promotional materials.
It is a project delivering a warm ‘meal of happiness’ to young people exhausted by COVID-19.
Busan City provided consulting to help young self-employed people struggling due to COVID-19 enter the online commerce market by creating new opportunities.
On April 28, Dingdu operated a win-win program including branding and marketing for entering the online commerce market, and online platform education.
Eight meal kits born through this process were included in the Happiness Box.
Youth aged 18 to 34 residing in Busan according to their resident registration can apply by accessing the Busan Youth Platform.
After participating in a simple survey, applicants choose one of the eight meal kit menus, and 4,000 people (500 per meal kit) will be selected by lottery in the first round and delivered by courier.
Among the stories written in the survey question ‘Why you should participate with the Youth Happiness Box,’ 20 people will be selected to receive two tickets each to the Busan Food Film Festa (July 2?4 at the Busan Cinema Center), supported by the festival.
Additionally, Busan Bank (President An Gam-chan) has decided to support 2,000 more Happiness Boxes for youth, and Busan City plans to select an additional 2,000 applicants from this round.
Mayor Park Hyung-jun of Busan said, “We carefully prepared this with young small business owners to support Busan youth struggling due to COVID-19,” and added, “I hope both the young small business owners giving the gifts and the young people receiving them gain healing power and feel small happiness.”
