[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Severe weather accompanied by tornadoes caused casualties, with 12 people dead and 379 injured in Wuhan, Hubei Province, and Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China.
According to Hubei TV on the 15th, at around 8:39 PM local time the previous day, a tornado with wind speeds reaching 178 to 217 km/h struck parts of Wuhan, resulting in 8 deaths and 230 injuries. Additionally, 28 houses collapsed and 130 were severely damaged.
Related footage shows that at the time in Wuhan, heavy rain, lightning, and hail fell, causing temporary structures to collapse and tower cranes and street trees to fall over.
According to China Central Television (CCTV), in Suzhou, a tornado with wind speeds between 218 and 266 km/h struck around 7 PM the previous day, causing 4 deaths and 149 injuries.
Furthermore, in Wuhan on the 10th, two workers cleaning the exterior walls of a high-rise building by gondola were struck by the building and died after a sudden strong wind blew.
