According to Article 18 of the Framework Act on Gender Equality (Gender Sensitivity Education), the course was taken remotely on the 13th in the district mayor's office

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seong Jang-hyun, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, attended the '2021 Gender Sensitivity and Women-Friendly Book Understanding Education' on the 13th at the mayor's office.

This is in accordance with Article 18 (Gender Sensitivity Education) of the Framework Act on Gender Equality.

The education will be conducted online in a non-face-to-face format from the 13th to the 14th, and all employees of the district office are required to participate.

Gender sensitivity education helps recognize the impact of laws, policies, customs, and systems on women and men. The goal is to establish policies considering gender impacts.

A women-friendly city is a city that operates policies to ensure equal participation of both genders in local policies, as well as care and safety. The district is focusing administrative efforts on creating a women-friendly city this year.

Seong Jang-hyun, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, said, "In March, we launched a resident participation group to identify and improve gender imbalance factors in daily life," and added, "We will also establish a mid- to long-term plan for a women-friendly city by July."
