[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Changwon City, Gyeongnam announced on the 14th that the 20th Munshin Art Award main prize winner is Park Heon-yeol (professor at University of Seoul), and the Young Artist Award winner is Park Jae-hee (Changwon region) artist.
The Munshin Art Award, hosted by Changwon City, honors the artistic spirit and creative activities of the world-renowned sculptor Munshin, and awards artists who are actively engaged in creative work in various fields.
The Munshin Art Award Steering Committee, starting from the 13th, with Chairman of the judging panel Seong Nak-woo and six expert judges from each field, fairly reviewed the artistic value and activities before selecting the winners.
Park Heon-yeol, who received the main prize, expresses through his works that all life is an ever-changing existence, ranging from general sculptures to human body sculptures and works that transmit light through marble.
The major theme of the works by Park Jae-hee, who won the Young Artist Award, is "traces." The works visualize the traces of paint crushed on the palette, expressing the free feeling and energy of the time when the act of painting was being performed.
The award ceremony for the Munshin Art Award main prize (prize money 20 million won) and the Young Artist Award (prize money 10 million won) will be held at 5 p.m. on the 27th at the outdoor exhibition hall of the Masan Munshin Art Museum, Changwon City.
