Gwangjin-gu Provides 500,000 Won Temporary Living Expenses to Low-Income Crisis Households

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is providing a one-time living expense support of 500,000 won to low-income households in crisis who are experiencing difficulties due to COVID-19.

The support targets low-income households with less than 75% of the median income and assets under 600 million won, whose income has decreased due to COVID-19 but who have not received benefits from existing welfare programs or COVID-19 damage support.

Support programs that cannot be overlapped include existing welfare programs such as basic livelihood security living benefits and emergency welfare living support, as well as COVID-19 damage support programs such as emergency employment stabilization subsidies, visiting care worker living support, Buttimgok Plus funds, and income stabilization support funds.

Online applications can be submitted by the head of household on the ‘Bokjiro’ website from the 10th to the 28th of this month, with an odd-even system applied based on the last digit of the birth year.

Additionally, from the 17th to June 4th, the head of household, household members, or representatives can apply in person at the local community service centers.

The support amount will be paid once at 500,000 won per household registered in the resident registration as of March 1 of this year.
