Accompanying at Vaccination Centers, Monitoring for Adverse Reactions Post-Vaccination, and Providing Meal Support
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) announced on the 13th that it will actively support residents aged 75 and older receiving vaccinations by linking with the ‘Care SOS Center Service,’ including accompaniment to vaccination centers, monitoring for adverse reactions after vaccination, and meal delivery.
Caregivers from service providers visit the homes of residents who wish to receive assistance, helping them visit the vaccination center located on the 4th floor of Bukahyeon Cultural and Sports Center (51 Bukahyeon-ro), monitor for adverse reactions for more than 30 minutes after vaccination, and ensure safe return home.
After vaccination, temporary home care and residential convenience services such as meal assistance, cleaning, disinfection, and simple home repairs are also provided. Meals including porridge, side dishes, and lunch boxes are supported up to 30 servings.
Recipients of basic livelihood security benefits and lower-income brackets who qualify for the ‘Care SOS Center Service’ cost support can use the service free of charge within a set amount, while non-eligible individuals can use the service by paying a prescribed fee.
Service applications can be made at each community service center or via the 120 Dasan Call Center. The district also produces and distributes the ‘Senior Customized Welfare Guide,’ which contains various care, medical, and job information for the elderly, including the ‘Care SOS Center Service.’
Mayor Moon Seok-jin said, “We will actively link the Care SOS Center Service so that seniors can comfortably receive vaccinations and carry out their daily lives.”
Meanwhile, this service connects elderly, disabled, and residents aged 50 and older who need care to appropriate service providers based on their health status and crisis situations. Seodaemun-gu has been implementing this service in earnest since the beginning of this year.
Service types include temporary home care (support for daily life of residents with mobility difficulties), meal support, accompaniment support, residential convenience support, health support, welfare checks, information counseling, and short-term facility admission. To this end, Seodaemun-gu has signed agreements with 34 service providers.
Residents receiving basic livelihood security benefits, lower-income brackets, and those with income below 85% of the median income can use the services free of charge up to an annual limit of 1.58 million KRW.
Additionally, depending on the COVID-19 situation, cost support is temporarily provided until June 30 of this year for those with income below 100% of the median income. Non-eligible individuals can use these Care SOS Center services by paying out-of-pocket.
