COVID-19 Case Confirmed in Naju... Jeonnam Patient No. 1237

[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do, has initiated immediate quarantine measures and epidemiological investigations following the occurrence of COVID-19 case number 1237 (Naju88) in Jeollanam-do.

According to Naju City quarantine authorities on the 13th, following case number 1207 (Naju87) in Jeollanam-do the previous day, case number 1237 (Naju88) was confirmed consecutively on the morning of the same day.

Case Naju87, Mr. A, is presumed to have been infected through a visit to an entertainment establishment located in Seo-gu, Gwangju last week.

Mr. A underwent testing at the Naju City Health Center screening clinic on the previous day after receiving a disaster alert text message guiding the movements of other confirmed cases, tested positive that evening, and was transferred to Mokpo Medical Center on the same day.

The quarantine authorities found that most of Mr. A’s movements, excluding his residence, were in other cities and counties, and thus linked the management of contacts and epidemiological investigations to the respective cities and counties.

Case Naju88, Mr. B, after showing suspected symptoms since the 10th, requested testing at the Naju General Hospital screening clinic the previous day, tested positive on the morning of the 13th, and was transferred to Gangjin Medical Center.

The quarantine authorities are investigating the specific infection route of Mr. B.

Additionally, disinfection of facilities along the confirmed movement routes (PC rooms, pharmacies, restaurants, etc.) has been completed, and efforts are focused on identifying additional contacts excluding two family members of Mr. B.
