[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] A nature-friendly 'Healing Nuri-gil' will be created at Jangyu Daecheong Valley in Gimhae-si, Gyeongnam.
According to the city on the 13th, the Daecheong Valley Nuri-gil construction project (Phase 2) was selected in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's '2021 Development Restriction Zone Environmental Culture Contest Project.' With an investment of 1 billion KRW including national funds, the detailed design service will be completed by July, and construction will begin after the summer vacation season. The expected completion date is February next year.
The city previously completed the Daecheong Valley Nuri-gil construction project (Phase 1) in 2018, linking the Daecheongcheon ecological stream walkway with Hope Park and Jangyu Waterfall.
Through this Phase 2 project, the Nuri-gil will be extended about 1.2 km from Jangyu Waterfall to the entrance of the Jangyusa hiking trail, completing a premium 8 km trail connecting Daecheongcheon~Jangyu Waterfall~Jangyusa~Yongjibong overall.
Currently, hikers visiting Jangyusa and Yongjibong use the Jangyusa access road, but due to the narrow road conditions, pedestrian safety accidents are a concern. Also, due to a disconnected hiking trail section, local residents have continuously requested the opening of a hiking trail within the valley. This additional project is expected to prevent safety accidents and complete a healing Nuri-gil where visitors can enjoy beautiful natural scenery.
Lee Soo-yong, Director of Urban Planning, stated, “We will create a nature-friendly Nuri-gil in the city by minimizing environmental damage and using eco-friendly materials.”
