[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Wells, a home appliance brand operated by Kyowon Group, announced on the 13th that four products, including two recently released water purifiers, Wells The One Home Cafe, and Wells air purifier Tornado, received six main awards in the ‘iF’ and ‘Red Dot’ international design awards.
Wells analyzed that the awarded products applied design elements that enhanced the device’s utility and convenience with a modest and elegant appearance, and that the significant improvement in their core functions as well as their increased use as interior objects were key factors.
The Wells The One water purifier digital desktop, released earlier this year, simultaneously won main awards in two categories, ‘Product Design’ and ‘User Experience (UX),’ at the iF Design Award. It received high praise for its ultra-compact size, color lighting function expressing seven temperature levels using colors, a simple control panel separating main and additional functions, and a water outlet that can rotate and adjust height.
Additionally, Wells The One Home Cafe received main awards from both the iF and Red Dot awards based on design elements such as reducing the size of the exterior in conjunction with the water purifier and user convenience by combining tea and coffee functions into one device.
A Wells representative said, “Wells is introducing optimized devices and rental services for users through product technology and design innovation,” adding, “In the second half of this year, we will implement differentiated strategies from other rental brands by launching consumer-customized healthcare solution rentals.”
