The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission Recommends Regulation Improvements to 20 Public Institutions in Employment and Welfare Sectors

[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission announced on the 13th that it recommended 20 public institutions, including the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service, to improve measures so that public institution employees working in non-affiliated areas cannot use the subsidized jeonse or monthly rent funds for personal purposes.
The Commission conducted a corruption impact assessment on 2,283 internal regulations of 20 public institutions in the employment and welfare sectors and prepared improvement plans with this content, recommending them to each institution.

First, to prevent the use of housing funds for purposes other than housing rental, the regulations were revised to require employees to submit supporting documents verifying the ownership of houses by themselves or their families when applying for loans.
During the operation of various committees such as personnel and asset management committees, rules on disqualification, recusal, and avoidance were established to block potential conflicts of interest.
Additionally, related regulations were improved to clarify the criteria for loan reasons when supporting worker livelihood stabilization funds, and it was recommended to mandate the submission of documents proving illness or other reasons when social service agents apply for sick leave.
The Commission has been conducting a full survey of internal regulations sequentially on 495 public institutions since last year and recommending improvements.
