Naver Opens 'Paid Content' Market "Creators Make and Sell Their Work"

Naver Opens 'Paid Content' Market "Creators Make and Sell Their Work"

[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Naver has launched a beta service for its 'Premium Contents' platform, which sells paid content.

On the 13th, according to Naver, the 'Premium Contents Platform' incorporates content creation, payment, and advanced technologies to enable creators to produce and sell content for a fee. Naver plans to officially launch the service within the first half of the year.

The platform's structure is similar to Smart Store, where small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operate. Naver provides tools and data necessary for content sales, such as content editing, payment, settlement management, data analysis, and promotion operations, so creators can easily produce and sell paid content.

Creators have full control over the content's theme, details, format, product composition, and pricing policies. Content sales methods include single purchases, monthly subscriptions through recurring payments, and group licenses for up to 100 users, among various product options that creators can freely choose from.

In the beta service version, users can access content from over 20 creators, including 'Buding,' which delivers real estate information, 'Book Journalism,' covering current affairs topics, and 'Ilbuntok,' providing global tech news. Users can check paid content through the newly established 'Premium' tab on Naver Post, Naver TV, or media company homepages, as well as on the 'Premium Contents' platform page, depending on the creator's preferred channel.

Kim Eun-jung, a leader at Naver, said, "Creators with expertise who analyze topics deeply at a professional level continue to grow, and the user behavior of willingly paying for competitive content has already been established globally. This will be a new opportunity for creators to meet paid subscribers and enhance their content competitiveness."
