Chungnam 501 Hospital Ship Scheduled for Completion by the End of Next Year

[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province will conduct an interim inspection for the completion of the hospital ship by the end of next year.

On the 13th, the province announced that it held the "2nd Interim Report Meeting on the Basic and Detailed Design Service for the Replacement Construction of the Aged Hospital Ship Chungnam 501" at the government ship dock of Daecheon Port, Boryeong City, where the hospital ship (Chungnam 501) is berthed.

At the report meeting, Geukdong Ship Design explained the modifications and schedule related to the basic and detailed design, reflecting opinions from the kickoff meeting in January, the major equipment selection committee in March, and the 1st interim report meeting.

The province plans to invest a total of about 12 billion KRW, excluding design costs, for the construction of the hospital ship, aiming to start construction in the second half of this year and complete it by the end of next year.

Geukdong Ship Design also announced at the meeting its plan to complete the design service for a 300-ton hospital ship, including various certification procedures within this year.

Kim Seok-pil, Director of the Low Birthrate, Health and Welfare Office of the province, said, "We will actively reflect the opinions presented by the ship design team and the ship operation staff in the hospital ship design service," adding, "We will make every effort to ensure that the optimal and best hospital ship is completed."
