Appointment Certificates Awarded to 19 People Including the Chairperson of External Cooperation Committee

[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] The Gyeonggi-do Special Olympics Korea Association has appointed branch heads for cities and counties within Gyeonggi Province and officially commenced activities.

The Gyeonggi-do Special Olympics Korea stated on the 13th, "The newly appointed branch heads for cities and counties will be responsible for spreading the spirit of the Special Olympics and supporting activities that help individuals with developmental disabilities achieve independence and growth."

Earlier, the Gyeonggi-do Special Olympics Korea recruited and selected branch heads for cities and counties in March and awarded appointment certificates on the 11th.

So far, the Gyeonggi-do Special Olympics Korea has held various sports competitions such as bocce and table tennis tournaments to help individuals with developmental disabilities train their minds and bodies through sports and adapt to diverse environments.

Oh Eung-hwan, President of Gyeonggi-do Special Olympics Korea, said, "Reflecting on our perception of individuals with developmental disabilities, we will work together with branch heads to lower the barriers between people with and without disabilities through sports, creating conditions where individuals with developmental disabilities can confidently stand as members of society and address various challenges."

President Oh also concurrently serves as Chairman of the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and has previously held positions such as Acting President of the Chungnam Taekwondo Association, Executive Vice President of the Korea Disabled Taekwondo Association, and Chairman of External Cooperation at Kukkiwon.
