BGF Group Joins 'Gyeonggi Food Giveaway'... Donates Goods Worth 20 Million Won BGF Retail and BGF Welfare Foundation donated items to the 'Gyeonggi Food Just Give' corner.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] BGF Retail and BGF Welfare Foundation announced on the 13th that they donated goods to the ‘Gyeonggi Food Just Give’ corner to help neighbors struggling with their livelihoods due to COVID-19.

The Just Give corner is a new concept welfare service started last year to provide emergency livelihood stabilization for low-income local residents who have faced difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. It has shown positive effects and is currently gradually expanding to other local governments.

BGF Group, sympathizing with the purpose of the Just Give corner, which aims for universal welfare, donated goods worth about 20 million KRW through the Goyang-si Deokyang Haengsin Comprehensive Social Welfare Center to the Just Give corner. The donated items include refrigerated and frozen foods, processed foods such as ramen, rice bowls, canned goods, and other daily necessities. The Just Give corner operated by the welfare center is available to any local resident living in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, and provides goods twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday).

Yang Kyung-hee, director of BGF Welfare Foundation, said, “It is necessary to practice warmer interest and the virtue of sharing more than usual for our neighbors facing livelihood crises due to COVID-19,” adding, “We will continue to consider the foundation’s role in helping the local community and work together with various organizations to create a society where we live together.”
