US April Consumer Prices Rise 4.2% Year-on-Year

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] The U.S. Department of Labor announced on the 12th (local time) that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in April rose by 4.2% compared to April of last year.


This increase exceeded the expert forecast of 3.6% by 0.6 percentage points.


Compared to the previous month, it rose by 0.8%, also significantly surpassing the expert forecast of 0.2%.
