[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jihwan] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that the number of new COVID-19 cases reported in Seoul from midnight to 9 p.m. on the 12th was provisionally counted at 218.
This is an increase of 2 cases compared to 216 cases reported during the same time frame the previous day. It is also 11 cases more than the 207 cases reported a week ago (on the 5th).
The daily number of confirmed cases in Seoul had generally remained in the 100s since mid-February, but began to rise at the end of March, and has recently been around 200 cases per day for the past month.
As of 9 p.m., the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Seoul stands at 40,336.
