Gwangju Urban Railway Corporation Opens KakaoTalk AI Chatbot Service

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation (President Yoon Jin-bo) announced on the 12th that it has introduced an ‘AI Chatbot’ service, a non-face-to-face digital consultation channel, to provide optimal civil complaint services.

A chatbot (Chat-Bot) is a compound word of ‘Chat’ and ‘Robot,’ and it is a consultation system that automatically answers when citizens ask questions through chatting.

The corporation’s chatbot can be used by adding ‘Gwangju Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation’ as a friend on KakaoTalk or by accessing the corporation’s website on a PC.

It can be used 24 hours a day by directly entering desired keywords in the chat window or by pressing menu buttons, providing services focused on the most frequently asked questions by citizens, such as ▲train timetable ▲train usage guide ▲fare information.

Along with this, the corporation will hold an ‘AI Civil Complaint Consultation Chatbot Opening Event’ until the 23rd.

Citizens who wish to participate can capture the chatbot execution screen on the corporation’s KakaoTalk and then post it as a comment on the corporation’s blog event post.

The corporation plans to randomly select 20 participants and award them coffee gift certificates.

Yoon Jin-bo, president of Gwangju Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation, said, “Through the introduction of the chatbot, we aim to provide faster customer service regardless of time and place,” adding, “We will actively utilize big data-based AI technology to upgrade services for enhancing citizen convenience.”
